As the world continues to change, there is a constant need for ongoing applied research and technology transfer work that enables our communities to take full advantage of emerging opportunities. The Canada Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre is an applied crop research and demonstration facility that strives to fill this requirement. Centre headquarters are located in Carberry with satellite locations in Portage la Prairie and Winkler, Manitoba. The Centre works in all aspects of crop diversification, while monitoring and promoting environmental sustainability of intensive field agriculture, including irrigation and water use efficiency. Knowledge generated from this Centre helps industry address environmental and food safety concerns and adapt to climate change. It plays a meaningful role in the support of sustainable intensive agriculture in Manitoba.
