Safe Farms

Welcome to Manitoba's farm safety and health website.

This site was jointly developed and maintained by Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives and Manitoba Labour and Immigration. Work-related injuries and deaths on Manitoba's farms continue to occur too often.

This site has been designed to provide farm managers, farm families and educators with resources necessary to improve farm safety and health.

Safe Farm Tip
Equipment service and repair
During harvest, equipment breakdowns can create real problems. The lost time and delay can have a significant economic impact. But equally important is the increased potential for injury during and after repairs. Pressure to get repairs done may prompt us to rush and take unnecessary risks. Before saving time by not replacing a guard, consider the time you will spend in bed recovering from a totally preventable injury.

Visitors are encouraged to bookmark this site for current farm safety and health information and resources.

You may also want to visit and bookmark, Manitoba Agriculture, Foods and Rural Initiatives homepage for a directory of farm business management and production related information, as well as the Workplace Safety and Health Division's homepage for additional workplace safety and health information.
