Farm Plan
A New Management Tool For The New Millennium

Back
From hobby farmers to large commercial enterprises, agricultural producers can use the new Farm Plan computer software as a tool to help make farm management decisions.

The Farm Plan software generates documents such as the debt servicing worksheets, a pro-forma net worth statement, and cash flow, cash and accrual farm income statements. The plan addresses viability issues, shows producers the direction in which their farm is going and more importantly, where they will be financially at the end of the plan.

This program will be useful to farmers who are used to doing farm planning and filling out annual lines of credit for their financial institution.

The results are based on the individual farmer's records as well as production and financial management plans for the coming year. The program allows farmers to see the effect of changes in production, productivity, price, financing and other variables on Net Income and Net Worth. This program was developed by Farm Management Specialists at Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives for the purpose of helping farmers to answer questions about the financial viability of their future farm plans.

All that is needed to run the program is a computer in a Windows 95 environment (or better), the Microsoft Excel 97 software and a compatible printer.
