Pork Indonesian Style

Pork Indonesian Style
1 lb (500 g) lean boneless pork loin cut into 1/4" (0.75 cm) strips
1 tbsp (15 mL) canola oil, divided
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 tsp (4 mL) hot pepper flakes
2 cups (500 mL) coarsely shredded cabbage
1 cup (250 mL) chopped celery
2 green onions, cut into 1/2" (1.25 cm) pieces
1/4 cup (50 mL) soy sauce
4 cups (1 L) cooked and drained angel hair pasta OR vermicelli, broken into thirds before cooking

In a large frypan or wok, heat 2 tsp (10 mL) oil over medium-high heat. Add pork strips, garlic and hot pepper flakes; cook and stir 2-3 minutes until meat is brown and just cooked. Remove from pan. Pour remaining oil into pan. Add cabbage, celery and green onions; cook and stir 1-2 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Stir in soy sauce and pasta. Return pork mixture to wok; stir to combine and heat through.

Makes 4 servings.
