IntroductionThis level adds a Security Program and may be applied to either GMP Advantage or HACCP Advantage depending on the food safety system that you have chosen to adopt. The area of security is becoming increasingly important in the modern food processing industry as there are increasing concerns regarding the protection of our food supply. Deliberate tampering or adulteration of food can have a devastating and long-lasting effect on not only the health of consumers but of the image of the company that produced the implicated food product. Ensuring a secure food processing environment is the best defense against this type of potential problem. The security standards follow the same organizational design as the GMP standards. That is, there are standards that fall into the Control Programs, Training, Operational Controls and Environmental Controls. |
