Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC)

Why are MASC's Direct Loans appealing?

  • Reasonable interest rates
  • Fixed interest rates over extended terms - beneficial when budgeting and planning
  • Penalty-free pre-payment and payout - to pursue better financial terms as available
  • Convenient repayment schedules - to suit your production

MASC's Operating Credit Guarantee can help farmers secure operating credit under reasonable terms and conditions.

If you are between 18-39 years of age, you could qualify for an interest rebate of up to $15, 000 to reduce the cost of borrowing during the critical start-up stage of your operation. The Young Farmer Rebate is designed to assist young farmers who are beginning or expanding their operations.

The Bridging Generations Initiative

MAFRI is committed to helping farmers manage the process of transferring the farm from one generation to the next. The Bridging Generations Initiative provides reasonable rates and terms for the young farmer while ensuring a guaranteed annual income for the retiring farmer. It features a variety of options, including guarantees, loans and training.

MASC Insurance

Having affordable all-risk production insurance will provide crucial compensation for production losses resulting from natural disasters. However, there are a number of benefits of production insurance that extend beyond just compensation for losses. Production insurance can increase your financial security, help with credit negotiations and reduce the risk of forwarding pricing. MASC has a process to determine eligibility. As well, a transfer formula allows for the transfer of experience from one generation to another, assisting you in obtaining an all-risk crop insurance contract.

Other MASC Insurance programs include:

  • Excess Moisture

  • Hail Insurance

  • Wildlife Damage Compensation
