The newest technology such as PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), or DNA fingerprinting, is used to identify the presence or absence of disease.
Manitoba Agriculture and Food staff work with all livestock groups to ensure that animals are raised humanely and owners are able to utilize the latest in scientific technology.
Field veterinarians are available to inspect farm operations to ensure that conditions are of high quality and often respond in times of need to assist producers in improving their operations.
