The Interlake Holstein Dairy Club (IHDC) has served more than 90 commercial and purebred dairy producers throughout the Interlake Region for almost 19 years. Each year the Club organizes and hosts a wide variety of educational and social activities including production seminars, kitchen table meetings, farm tours, judging clinics, award banquets and summer picnics.
Over the years, producer members of the IHDC have earned a reputation for breeding superior, high producing dairy cattle and achieving excellence in milk quality.
In 1998 and 1999, the Interlake Region's Clearfarms Holsteins was the highest producing dairy herd in Manitoba. The IHDC is also home to Narfa Farms, a two-time recipient of the prestigious Master Breeders Shield, which is the highest honour that a Holstein breeder can achieve. As well, producers from this Region have captured first place in Manitoba's Annual Milk Quality Recognition Program in 8 of the past 11 years.
