2 and # 530, then go 5 miles north and 1 1/2 miles west. An alternative route from Hwy #
10: go 1/2 mile north of Log Cabin (junction of Hwys # 2 and # 10), then go 15 miles east
on Treesbank Road and look for two 80 ft. silos. |

10-15 bulls.

Herd is type classified: 6 EX, 26 VG, 22 GP & 4 G.
Involved in embryo transfer (ET) whereby 5-8 cows are collected every year.
Embryos are used within herd and for domestic & international buyers.
We don't plan to expand our herd in the future; however, we do plan to build a new
tiestall barn. |

Highest production herd in Manitoba from 1987 to 1997.
Top producing herd in Canada (1993). Most improved herd within the Manitoba Coloured
Breeds (1987, 1990 & 1993).
We've bred 7 Reserve All Canadian, 1 All Canadian and 3 Honorable Mention animals in the
last 10 years as well as a 2nd place 3 yr old, 2nd place Best Udder Overall at the 1994
RAWF Toronto, a 2nd place Senior 2 yr old at the 1997 RAWF and a 2nd place Junior Yearling
at the 1998 RAWF. |

1150 acres - 350 acres are rented out, 200 acres alfalfa, 80 acres
grass hay, 90 acres corn silage and grain, 300 acres barley & the rest is in pasture.
64 tiestall barn with 10 milking unit, one overhead tank, shuttle barn cleaner, top
aeration system. One 20 x 80 Harvestor silo for hay silage, one 20 x
80 concrete silo for corn silage & one 20 x 42 Harvestor silo for high moisture
barley.
We have a barn especially for heifers and another barn for goats & sheep (Angora,
Cashmere & Merinos for wool market). |

Feeding system: single TMR for lactating cows, TMR & pasture for
replacement heifers.
Separate close up ration for dry cows.
Breeding: 100 % AI on cows - 80 % proven sires. Breed for type and protein.
100 % AI on heifers - 100 % proven sires, embryos. |

Herd health visit every 6 weeks.
Practice a complete vaccination program on the herd.
Brown Swiss are very healthy animals. We have many cows over 10 years & up to 18 years
old. |
| Marketing: |

We have been marketing Brown Swiss cattle, embryos and breeding age
bulls for many years all over Canada and to various other countries in the World (U.S.,
Mexico, Ireland, Iran & Switzerland).
We have sold an average of 25 females and 8 bulls every year.
We have a large supply of hay for sale comprised of alfalfa or alfalfa mix.
Sold 3 bulls to AI stud in 2001. |
