NOTES

  1. Size - 10 by 12 ft., convenient for wood, oil, or coal burning stove

  2. Capacity -250 chicks during brooding period.
                    - 100 to 125 chickens on growing pasture

  3. Portable- to provide clean ground and fresh pasture

  4. Double-boarded- for early spring brooding in Manitoba

  5. Front Vent - hinged board above plate between centre pair of rafters.

  6. Rear Vents - (for summer cross-ventilation) hinged boards below eaves, between 2nd and 3rd rafters, also between 4th and 5th rafters.

  7. Windows and Cotton Frame - Hinged at top on inside, can be hooked up to rafters. Lower windows removable.

  8. Overcrowding - Avoid by providing cheap shelters for some of the chicks after the brooding period.
