  • Hobby Farms
  • Feedlots
  • Pastures
  • Community Pastures
  • Hatcheries
  • Abattoirs
  • Assembly Yards
  • Auction/Livestock Sale Facilities
  • Rendering Plants

A unique national number will be assigned to a premises and provided to the contact. Manitoba is working with federal, provincial and industry partners to achieve this critical step towards a traceability system.

Premises Identification:

  • allows for rapid notification of livestock and poultry stakeholders
  • helps prepare for animal health and food safety emergencies (ex: disease or flood)
  • helps track animals in an emergency
  • reduces the impact of an emergency
  • maintains or provides greater market access

Basic land and contact information must be supplied for livestock and poultry premises. There is no cost to participate and it will assist the industry in the planning and management of animal health and food safety emergencies.
