The federal/provincial/territorial governments’ Agricultural
Policy Framework (APF) expires in March 2008. A policy framework
is currently under development in consultation with industry
partners. Negotiations with the
federal and other provincial/territorial governments on Growing
Forward (the Next
Generation of Agriculture and Agri-Food Policy) are underway.
These national policy framework consultations provide an
opportunity to identify and to implement the program shifts needed to
strengthen our agriculture and agri-food industry in Manitoba to be
both competitive and profitable.
