The daily FHB Risk Forecast has been posted since mid-June to cover the period when winter wheat was heading and flowering. We are now at the point where early-seeded spring wheat and barley are heading – meaning they will soon be vulnerable to FHB infection when it’s hot and humid. The map that MAFRI produces is based on data from the stations of the Manitoba Ag Weather Program. Other agencies are now getting into the action and producing risk maps as well. There will be differences in the look of these maps because they are based on different models.
