Bison Extension / Industry Development Service  

PURPOSE OF PROGRAM/SERVICE

Provide expertise and training to industry sectors involved in bison farming in such areas as animal health, genetics, nutrition, grazing management, and marketing, especially farm gate sales. Supply products and services to the bison farming industry and to extension staff.

To assist the Manitoba Bison Industry by capturing increased income and profits for producers as they participate further up the food chain.

WHO QUALIFIES

Producers and agri-industry.

AVAILABLE BENEFITS/ASSISTANCE

Development and evaluation of production, marketing and value added information for individual producers and groups, including the preparation and distribution of factsheets, financial cost analysis, and delivery of workshops, seminars and demonstration projects.
