Manitoba is developing a new poverty reduction strategy. Your views are important!

A new poverty reduction strategy is in development to address the critical realities of Manitobans living in poverty.

The Manitoba government is working co-operatively with citizens and stakeholders to hear their views. Meaningful consultation is essential to producing an effective poverty reduction strategy that captures the diverse experiences and needs of Manitobans experiencing poverty.

Manitobans are invited to participate in online survey on poverty reduction.

Manitobans are also invited to share their thoughts through written submissions.

Poverty is complex and multi-dimensional. What do you think is needed to reduce poverty? Include consideration of these five key areas:

  • Everyday living - are the basics to support a modest standard of living
  • Employment - is the work that provides an income
  • Education and training - are the skills and knowledge needed for personal and professional advancement
  • Health and well-being - involves personal health and a sense of well-being
  • Sense of belonging - is a sense of being part of the community
