The Manitoba government is considering new consumer protection rules for the vehicle repair industry. These include:

• ensuring that cost estimates are detailed
• getting customer authorization before repairs are made
• giving customers the option of receiving all old parts
• providing mandatory warranties on labour, and most new and used parts
• ensuring the final cost is within a certain percentage of the estimate
