Changes to the City of Winnipeg Garbage and Recycling Program - Impact of new garbage and recycling program on rental properties
Changes to the City of Winnipeg garbage and recycling program may affect some rental units throughout the city. Effective October 1, 2012, the city provided each single-family home with one new recycling cart and one new garbage cart.
The new program affects utility bills on houses, duplexes, and multiplexes with seven units or less. As of October 1, a charge of $0.14 per day or about $51.00 per year will be added to quarterly utility bills (along with water and sewer charges).
