Discussion :

The High pressure area located in the western prairies yesterday has now moved to Montana/North Dakota and is ridging out to a second High pressure area in NW Ontario. This combination is keeping the southern half of Manitoba sunny and warm with 10-20 k/h winds during the daytime becoming lighter in the evening. This pattern is expected to persist for the next few days with daytime temperatures remaining well above normal.

Discussion :

A weak low pressure area located in the vicinity of Island Lake is bring some instability to the central parts of the province. With the instability comes the chance of rain showers and possible thunder showers. Temperatures are still above normal and there is widespread areas of crossover conditions. The upper flow will push the weak low out of Manitoba into NW Ontario later this afternoon but an attached trough stretching out into Saskatchewan will continue the chance of showers or thunder showers developing throughout today and tomorrow.

Remarks :

The broad ridge of high pressure remains in the south keeping mainly sunny skies and above normal temperatures for the next few days. Very widely scattered thunder showers are possible. The central parts of the province have the greatest chance to experience rain showers due to an east west trough slowly making its way across the province, but temperatures remain high and RH levels low resulting in widespread crossover areas. A building high north of Churchill will give clearing skies today.
