    Content: Census records from the National Archives for the Manitoba region are available on microfilm at Archives of Manitoba. Returns list all individuals and are organized by census district.
    Finding Aids: Available onsite and at the Library and Archives Canada. A nominal index for the 1881 Census is  available at  Archives of Manitoba.

    Dates: 1831 - 1836, 1838, 1840, 1843, 1846-1847, 1849, 1856, 1870
    Content: Census returns for the Lower Settlement, Grant Town and Aboriginal Villages. Includes for each head of family, age, country of birth, marital status, number and sex of dependants, number of buildings, livestock, farm equipment, river craft and acres of land cultivated. Grand totals are included for each category.
