Archives of Manitoba's responsibilities include the preservation and protection of recorded information from provincial and local governments, courts of law, school authorities, businesses, organizations, and individuals, and the provision of access to that information. Some government records are accessed through FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act). In addition, Archives of Manitoba has archival responsibilities of the Hudson's Bay Company Archives.
