Arts Education

Manitoba recognizes the importance of arts education both for its capacity to enhance the quality of life for Manitobans of all ages as well as ensuring future audiences, arts consumers and the next generation of artists and cultural labor force. 

Arts education is supported at the community level through the delivery of a variety of funding programs and a unique partnership with Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth and the Manitoba Arts Council in the delivery of ArtsSmarts Manitoba.  In addition, programs such as the Arts Education Access Program, the After School Arts Enrichment Program and the Youth Performing Arts Travel Grant offer funding support to community groups and schools access to programming for children and youth.

The delivery of arts education is a vital part of provincial organizations such as the Manitoba Children’s Museum and the Manitoba Arts Network as well as the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts.
