Manitoba Local Public Bodies. FIPPA provides Manitobans and others with the legal right to
access records held by local public bodies subject to certain specified exceptions. It
also sets out requirements that public bodies must follow to protect the privacy of
personal information in their custody. FIPPA requires the compilation of directories of
records to inform the public about the functions of public bodies and the types of records
and information commonly held, including major holdings of personal information. If you
