When Not to Use FIPPA

Public bodies have always provided access to certain information and records in their custody. FIPPA does not replace existing procedures for gaining access to information or records, which are normally available to the public. Nor does it affect any fees that may be charged for such access.

To find out if the information that you need is available without using FIPPA, contact the Access and Privacy Coordinator for the public body which has the information.
