Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church

Designation Date: February 14, 1991
Designation Authority: The R.M. of Rossburn
Present Owner: Ruthenian Catholic Mission of The Order of St. Basil The Great in Canada

Ukrainian settlers arrived in the Rossman Lake area in 1899 and celebrated Mass in various local homes with a Roman Catholic priest. A church building was constructed in 1901 and came to be known as the "Independent Church'" because it served both Orthodox and Catholic Ukrainians. This church ultimately became exclusively Orthodox. Ukrainian Catholics undertook in 1904 to build the present church, a three-chambered building topped with a little dome set on an octagonal drum. The grounds of the church also boast a fine bell tower.
