Northern Manitoba Boundaries Red Deer River
Installed 1962
PTH 10 at Red Deer River Crossing

In 1912 the northern boundary of Manitoba was extended from this point to the 60th parallel of latitude. This acquisition of 178,000 square miles gave the Province an ocean coast line on Hudson Bay, new resources in forests, minerals and water power, and reunited the old north of the fur trade with the new south of agricultural settlement.
