WEST NILE VIRUS BULLETIN #6
Correction: A magpie found on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, was found in the northern sector of the R.M. of Tache near the border of the R.M. of Ritchot. This bird has now been confirmed as positive.
Four birds in Manitoba have now been confirmed positive for West Nile virus:

- To date, 235 birds have been picked up. Of the 175 birds that have been sent for testing, four birds have tested positive, 120 have tested negative and 51 test results are pending.
- All sentinel chickens have tested negative.
- Mosquitoes collected in traps in Winnipeg on July 16 and July 18 in the area of the first positive bird have all tested negative for West Nile virus.
