WEST NILE VIRUS UPDATE
- Two more horses that have died have tested presumptive positive for West Nile virus. One horse was located in the RM of Langford and the other in the RM of Woodlands. This brings the total number of horses found in the province with the virus this year to 12.
- An eider duck from the RM of Portage la Prairie has also tested positive for the West Nile virus. This is the first duck to test positive in the province.
- As previously reported, a total of 52 birds from the crow family have tested positive for West Nile virus. The virus has also been found in geese, sentinel chickens and mosquito pools. There have been no cases of West Nile virus diagnosed among people in Manitoba.
