IMPORTANT UPDATE TO WEST NILE NEWS RELEASE ISSUED EARLIER TODAY

A dead bird found in the capital region has tested presumptive positive for the West Nile virus. A media bulletin with more detail is expected to be released later today.

The information about the test was released earlier today at a news conference but was not reflected in the news release due to the changing nature of the information. The information was brought to the minister’s attention just prior to the news conference.
