August 09, 2003
The beach posting issued by the regional medical officer of health on Thursday, August 7, 2003, at Sandy Hook Beach has been changed.
Latest test results of myocystin levels fall within safe limits.
Originally, the notice had advised Manitobans to stay out of the water and to refrain from drinking the water until test results showed myocystin levels had dropped.
Currently, a swimming or water contact advisory remains at Sandy Hook Beach and at Albert Beach recommending Manitobans avoid drinking or swimming in water where severe algae blooms are visible.
Manitobans are also encouraged to report severe algae blooms to Health Links at 788-8200 or toll-free at 1-888-315-9257.
