Budget 2008 delivers the ninth-straight balanced budget and saves for the future. Budget 2008 charts a steady economic course with strategic tax cuts and investments in skills training, more doctors, nurses, police officers, water protection
and climate change.

What Budget 2008 means for you and your family:
· Budget 2008 introduces a new Primary Caregiver Tax Credit to provide eligible Manitobans $85 per month, up to $1,020 per year for primary caregivers.
· Budget 2008 removes the PST from non-prescription quit-smoking aids.
· Budget 2008 reduces personal income tax for every taxpayer by increasing the basic personal exemption by $100.
· Budget 2008 increases the Education Property Tax Credit by $75 to $600, saving Manitobans an additional $24.5 million annually.
· Budget 2008 drops the small business tax rate, already the lowest in Canada, to
one per cent on Jan. 1, 2009.
