    Export Permit

A provincial export permit is required before shipping or moving raw furbearing animal pelts from Manitoba to other provinces or countries.

Provincial export permits are issued by the permitting office at the Wildlife & Ecosystem Protection Branch in Winnipeg (204- 945-1893) and at some Manitoba Conservation District offices. Applications for these permits can be obtained from the nearest Manitoba Conservation office. The fee is $20.00 per permit.

Environment Canada’s CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) export permit is also required to take bobcat, black bear, lynx, river otter, timber wolf and certain species at risk across international borders. These permits are only available from Environment Canada. Please refer to www.cites.ec.gc.ca or call 1-800-668-6767 for more information.
