Getting There: Paint Lake Provincial
Park is located in the northeast region of Manitoba approximately
707km (442 miles) north of Winnipeg or 32km south of Thompson via
PTH 6 and PR 375 (paved). The subdivision is located along the east
shore of Liz Lake just west of Paint Lake in Paint Lake Provincial
Park which is accessed east off PTH 6 onto PR 375. Then turn south
on Liz Lake Road to the subdivision.
Location & Description of Subdivision:
The Liz Lake subdivision is a cottage area located in Paint Lake
Provincial Park off PR 375 on Liz Lake Road. The subdivision has
views of either Liz Lake to the west or Paint Lake to the east. The
average lot size is 1/3 acres but may vary due to topography or
other requirements. The subdivision design has provided a natural
buffer space between the front lot lines and the lakeshore. Back
tier cottage owners will be able to secure a docking site on the
Crown Reserve on Paint Lake. The closest beach is located 1 km away
at the Paint Lake Day use area. Motor boats are allowed on Liz Lake
only up to a 9.9 horsepower.
Over most of this location, tree cover consists
of poplar, spruce and birch and a shoreline consisting of bedrock
with a mixture of clay, sand and boulder. The slope to the waters’
edge can be considerable.
Services: The subdivision has year
round access on a gravel road with hydro and MTS to all lots.
Limited services are provided year round at the Paint Lake Resort
located on Paint Lake approximately 1.5km east. Full service
amenities including hospital, R.C.M.P. and airport are provided in
Thompson located 20 minutes north on PTH 6.
