Cottage Lot Draw

Minister's Welcome

Welcome to Manitoba Conservation’s cottage lot draw website.

I am pleased to share information about a new draw process that will be in place for 2007. Applicants will no longer be required to select a specific subdivision.  They will now choose to participate in a selection process for all subdivisions in areas of the province that they desire.  This gives applicants the chance to select a lot in the order in which they were drawn, as long as there are lots remaining in the area selected.   All lots that remain unselected after a draw will be made available on a first come, first serve basis.

Minister of Conservation, Stan Struthers

The program is also strengthened through joint development agreements that will be implemented with other partners, such as First Nations.

One more enhancement is our new website. It will show lot information for all subdivisions in the cottaging program. Information on the site will include the development status of subdivisions.  Subdivision maps will show all lots in that subdivision, both available lots and unavailable lots.

The purpose of these changes and improvements is to simplify the draw process and increase the chances for applicants to access unselected lots. Ultimately, it will allow more Manitobans to share our provinces’ exceptional natural resources and the joys of cottage life.

Stan Struthers
Minister, Manitoba Conservation
