Notice of Participant Assistance Program

PARTICIPANT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE CLEAN ENVIRONMENT COMMISSION HEARING ON A PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY THE CITY OF BRANDON (FILE: 4307.50)

The Honourable Steve Ashton, Minister of Conservation, has established a participant assistance program pursuant to MR 125/91 concerning an Environment Act Proposal submitted by the City of Brandon for proposed alterations to the City’s existing industrial wastewater treatment facility to facilitate a 2-shift per day operation of Maple Leaf Foods’ hog processing plant. The program will provide funding to people or groups of people to participate in the Clean Environment Commission public hearing. A total of $50,000 in the program will be made available to successful participants. Application forms are available from the Environmental Approvals Branch at Suite 160, 123 Main Street in Winnipeg. Applications must be made to the Director, Environmental Approvals Branch, on or before APRIL 21, 2003.
