Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations (TDG)
Under Provincial Legislation, Manitoba Regulation 55/2003 adopts the federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDG) for use within Manitoba’s jurisdiction.

Canadian Environmental Protection Act and Regulations
The federal environmental legislation sets out requirements relating to the interprovincial and international transport of hazardous waste. In addition, there is federal legislation pertaining specifically to the storage and handling of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).

City of Winnipeg

• The City of Winnipeg Sewer By-Law sets out restrictions pertaining to wastes discharged to the City of Winnipeg sewer system including the requirement that hazardous waste shall not be discharged to the sewer system.
  
  
• The Bio-Medical Waste Sharps By-Law  sets out requirements and restrictions pertaining to the transport of sharps to the City of Winnipeg Landfill.

The Manitoba Association for Resource Recovery Corporation (MARRC)

• Stewardship Program for Used Oil                            
    
  MARRC has a mandate to develop, implement and administer a cost-effective, sustainable, user-financed and province-wide stewardship program for used oil, used oil filters and used oil containers on behalf of its’ members.
