Whiteshell Programs FAQ (PDF)
Whiteshell Provincial Park is inviting you and your class/group to discover the jewel of Manitoba’s Provincial Parks and get a close-up look at the life of the boreal forest - Canada Geese, white-tailed deer, Bald Eagles, Snapping turtles and more! We are pleased to offer free interpretive programming to educators and group leaders. Programs are for all ages and are available year-round.
As you visit the Canadian Shield - granite ridges, tall pines and beautiful lakes will greet you at every stop. Our programs are a perfect addition to a trip you may be planning in the area, or a reason to discover the beauty of the shield region on its own.
Interpretive Programs emphasize hands-on activities and are designed to be grade/age appropriate. All programs are designed to fit into the science, social studies and physical education curriculums and they can be adapted to fit your specific needs. You can choose from a selection of ready-made programming listed in the program flyer or request additional topics. Programs typically last for about 1 hour each, but can be shortened or lengthened depending on your requirements. Several new programs have been developed for 2011!
If you are unable to come to us, why not ask us to come to you? Interpreters can deliver extension programs for an in-classroom visit. Have us come to you for a pre-trip visit to help you get ready for your trip to the Whiteshell (we can also drop-by your site if you are on a camping adventure).
For more information on our programs or to book a program and to plan your Whiteshell Provincial Park adventure please call Sloan Cathcart, Senior Park Interpreter at 204-369-3157 or email Sloan.Cathcart@gov.mb.ca.
