Tour the Whiteshell Fish Hatchery! From eggs to
fingerlings, Manitoba Fisheries ensures our fish futures everyday. Visit our
Hatchery Interpretive Centre to learn how the hatchery works towards a
sustainable future. See Master Angler sized fish and view the endangered Lake
Sturgeon up-close-and-personal in our aquarium to learn more about the future of
this species and what we can do to help it. Provincial Park Interpreters will
greet you in the centre and answer all your questions. Tours are FREE and
everyone is welcome to attend!

July 2-6
South Whiteshell Soarers – Did you know that the Whiteshell is home
to more than 300 bird species? Join the interpreters this week for a birding
hike, a chat with a flying squirrel expert and an all ‘round winging good
time.
July 9-13
All in the Balance – Darth Invader and his army of Storm Poopers are
trying to establish a foothold in an ecosystem not so long ago or far away.
Find out how invasive species are challenging our park and learn about other
issues that are impacting the sustainability of the Whiteshell.
July 16-20
It’s My Nature – Celebrate Parks Day this weekend by learning about the
differences between life in the city and survival in the wilderness. Build a
shelter with an interpreter and enter a draw to roam the park as an NRO for a
day.
July 23-27
A Rockin’ Good Time – The Whiteshell is home to some of the oldest
exposed rocks in the world. Discover their secrets this week with the
Falcon/West Hawk interpreters and a special geological guest.
July 30-August 3
Villains on Trial – Bears and wolves often get a bad rap—but do they
deserve it? Meet some critters in custody this week and decide for yourself.
Then, let your animal side loose as you join the interpreters for a nighttime
wolf howl.
August 6-10
Mysterious Meteors of Manitoba – Discover the Whiteshell at night—the
secret lives of bats, legends of the cosmos, UFO sightings, meteor strikes,
shooting stars and more!
August 13-17
From Here to There in Wagons, Trains and Canoes – People have been
traveling to the Whiteshell for thousands of years. Join the tradition this
week as you bake bannock and meet some of the earliest residents of this area.
August 20-24
Wild and Wacky Wetlands – Agatha Duckweed has a marshland mystery for
you to solve. Meet bog buddies and fen friends as you dip into wetlands and
discover why they are one of the most important—and threatened—habitats in the
park.
August
27- Something’s Fishy – Take a swim on the scaly side
and learn about sturgeon and
September 1 other amazing fish. Try a bite of trout and
release a fish at the hatchery!

everyone is welcome to attend! Watch for our weekly posters or for more
information visit the Falcon Lake Interpretive Centre on Falcon’s main beach or
the Whiteshell Fish Hatchery on Highway 312.
