– Celebrate Canada Day by
revisiting its past. Discover the past cultures of Spruce Woods
and test your knowledge of Canadian trivia. |
| July 2 -7 |
Things We Love To Hate - Oh those annoying ______________
(you fill in the blank!) This week learn more about these
creatures and discover the reason they are here! |
| July 8 -14 |
Flora, Flora and More Flora - Spruce Woods Provincial Park
houses a unique array of flora, from the prickly pear cactus to the
spruce tree to blue grass. Join the interpreters to learn about
Spruce Woods flora, their uses, and their future. |
| July 15-21 |
Celebrate Parks –
No park passes necessary this weekend. We want you to come out and enjoy
Manitoba Parks. Find out what the Natural Resource Officers do every day to
protect our wildlife. |
| July 23-28 |
Pine Fort Days- Go
back in time this week…back to the days of voyageurs and fur trading. Join the
Manitoba Muzzleloader’s rendezvous. |
| July 29-August 4 |
Trees –Trees are the
earth’s lungs. Join us as we learn more about what makes trees so important in
the fight against climate change |
| August 5-11 |
Aliens and Pirates –
There are some strange and wonderful creatures that make Spruce Woods their
home. Then, there are the visitors that have stayed too long! Come find out
more about who belongs and who doesn’t. |
| August 12-18 |
SkinkFest-Spruce
Woods is home to many unique and endangered critters. Discover what make these
animals special, and what you can do to help them. We’ll be highlighting the
Northern Prairie Skink. |
| August 19-25 |
Oh My Stars – Come to
the interpretive centre this week to learn all about stars. Learn the myths
about the big dipper, Orion and others. You will even get a chance to go
start gazing with the experts. See you there! |
| August 26 - September 1 |
Climate Change – You
often hear the term Climate Change in the daily news headlines but what does it
mean and how does it pertain to you? Come to the Park Centre this
week to find out what you can do to help.
