"What a grand beach!" Grand Beach has been a social gathering area for recreation since the Canadian Northern Railway completed a line between Winnipeg and the beach in 1916. The boardwalk has nine on-site interpretive signs describing the history of the area. Archival photographs help bring you back to the 20's, 30's and 40's-the Grand Old Days-of this railway resort. The boardwalk runs parallel to the beach providing a magnificent view of sun, sand and the waters of North America's sixth largest freshwater lake- Lake Winnipeg. Allow 30 min.
