Cross-country Skiing Trail Conditions

This report is effective as of February 4, 2010

Provincial Park  
Beaudry Trails are groomed with good conditions
Birds Hill Trails are groomed and in very good condition
Camp Morton Reports groomed trails with new snow and excellent conditions.
Duck Mountains:  
     Childs Lake Reports groomed trails with new snow and good conditions
     Wellman Lake Reports groomed trails with new snow and good conditions
Clearwater Trails are groomed with new snow and excellent conditions
Grand Beach Trails are groomed with new snow and in good condition
Hecla Reports ungroomed trails with good conditions
Paint Lake Trails are groomed with good conditions
Sandilands Provincial Forest

Spruce Woods Trails are partially groomed and in good condition.
Turtle Mountain Reports groomed trails with good conditions
Whiteshell The following trails remain closed due to repair equipment on sections of the trail.  South Whiteshell Loop, West Hawk Loop, McHugh Loop.  All other cross country ski trails in the park are open and in good condition.

The Falcon Ridge Ski and Recreation Area 
At the Falcon Ridge Ski and Recreation Area cross country ski trails are in good condition with the High Lake Trail especially good.

Winter Safety Tips
  • Check the weather report and heed precautions and advisories. If weather warnings suggest a severe wind chill or extremely low temperatures, consider avoiding outdoor activities until the weather improves.

  • Travel is not recommended on all streams, rivers and lakes.

  • Keep a trail map with you and know where you are. Stay on marked trails.
