Every year, the Wildlife Branch asks all big game hunters to complete a short questionnaire to evaluate hunter effort and success. The questionnaire is vital to the management of Manitoba’s big game species (white-tailed deer, elk, moose, barren-ground caribou, black bear and wolf). The main goal of the questionnaire program is to estimate how hunting affects Manitoba’s big game populations. Without hunters’ input, it is impossible to know how many animals are harvested each year. This information is essential in determining the number of licences available, setting bag limits and maintaining future hunting opportunities.

Even if you did not hunt or tag an animal, your reply is still important. Identifying the number of hunters who did not tag an animal is just as important as recording those who did! Please complete the questionnaire for each licence that you purchased in 2010. Each questionnaire should take 2-3 minutes to complete.

Please note that all responses to the questionnaire are anonymous and confidential.  You, the licensed hunter, are the link between what happens during the hunting season and how that will impact big game populations in the future. The Wildlife Branch congratulates you for your dedication to big game management in Manitoba.

     Thank you for your participation!
