SAFE Work and YOU

Who Should Attend:

All members of the Safety and Health Committee, Supervisors, Employers.

Overview of the Workshop:

So you are a new member of your Workplace Safety and Health Committee!!  The first half of this training program will provide you with an overview of the rights and responsibilities of all workplace parties under The Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.  What does the committee do?  What safety and health rights and responsibilities do workers and supervisors have?  Interested in Ergonomics??  The second half of the day will highlight why many of us can feel sore (muscles, joints) at work and will discuss strategies you and your employer can take to make work activities safer and healthier. Relevant legislation will be reviewed.

This course requires a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 24.

You will learn to:

• Understand the role of the safety and health committee
• Be aware of the safety and health rights and responsibilities of the committee, supervisor, employer, worker
• Determine musculoskeletal (ergonomic) risk and discuss strategies to reduce risk.
