Acting status

14(1) Where an employing authority or designate directs an employee employed in one position to take over temporarily the full duties and responsibilities of another position having a higher grade of pay, if the employee takes over and continues to perform for 10 or more consecutive working days the duties and responsibilities of the other position, the employee shall be appointed temporarily to the other position with acting status and shall be paid at the rate of pay applicable to the other position from the date of taking over the duties and responsibilities of the other position until the temporary appointment is revoked.

Poste intérimaire

14(1) Lorsque le responsable du personnel ou son représentant prescrit à un employé occupant un poste de combler temporairement un autre poste dont l'échelle de salaire est supérieure, et que l'employé comble ce poste pendant au moins 10 jours ouvrables consécutifs, l'employé doit être nommé temporairement à cet autre poste à titre intérimaire et doit être payé au taux de rémunération applicable à cet autre poste à compter de la date à laquelle il a été nommé à ce poste jusqu'à la révocation de sa nomination temporaire.

14(2) In this section, "duties and responsibilities" means those duties and responsibilities that would have been performed by the incumbent during the period in which he or she has been replaced.

14(2) Pour l'application du présent article, le terme *attributions et responsabilités* s'entend des attributions et des responsabilités qu'aurait exercé le titulaire du poste pendant l'intérim.

14(3) An employee who is temporarily appointed to another position on an acting basis is not considered to be on probation.
