The University of Winnipeg is a medium-sized university with a long tradition of providing quality undergraduate education. The roots of the University go back over 130 years.

The University of Winnipeg is home to over 9,000 full- and part-time students. Located in downtown Winnipeg, the university attracts students from all over Manitoba, across Canada and around the world.

The University of Winnipeg is unique in Canada. Its three distinct units – the University, the Collegiate Division, and the Continuing Education Division, provide students with the option of pursuing a degree program, a high school program or numerous professional development diploma/certificate programs.

The University of Winnipeg awards undergraduate degrees in Arts, Business and Economics, Science, Education and Theology. The University confers graduate degrees in Theology, Arts, and Science, and offers joint graduate degree programs (with the University of Manitoba) in History, Religious Studies and Public Administration.

Additionally, the University offers pre-professional programs (from one to three years) which prepare students for admission to professional programs offered at the University of Manitoba, and at other institutions throughout Canada.

Other programs include:

  • Distance learning – including courses delivered off campus throughout the province, and online
  • Joint programs with Brandon University (Psychiatric nursing), University of Minnesota (Engineering), the Canadian Mennonite University , Red River College and Menno Simons College .

The Collegiate provides high school education in a university environment, and students may take a partial first-year Arts and Science program while completing high school.

The Continuing Education Division offers a broad range of full-time, part-time, and professional development programs in information technology, management and professional studies, international languages, and other subject areas.
