WTC
Winnipeg Technical College (WTC) offers technical education and training opportunities to both secondary and post-secondary learners. The College offers 19 programs at two campuses and several satellite locations.
WTC offers a Training Bonus Voucher. The initiative encourages the concept of lifelong learning and provides support to the College's Alumni after graduating. The Training Bonus Voucher provides every graduate of a participating program with access to 30 hours (1 week) of additional training, without fees, in a regular (full-time) WTC program. This benefit can be used to enhance skills in the original area of study or to acquire related skills from other programs within designated guidelines. WTC delivers a wide range of customized courses for industry that includes both theoretical and practical training for adult learners. The College provides secondary and post-secondary students with applied skills training for careers in Health Care and Human Services, Information and Business Technology, and Skilled Trades.
Program scheduling is flexible, and can be delivered at the WTC campuses or in the client’s workplace. Examples of companies that have used WTC’s customized training include: Boeing Canada Operations, Bristol Aerospace, Canadian National Railway, Canadian Pacific Railway, Department of National Defense, Manitoba Hydro, Manitoba Lotteries Corporation and the University of Manitoba.
WTC also offers a free job referral service for Manitoba businesses interested in hiring its graduates. Job orders placed by businesses are posted at both WTC campuses and in related program areas. Suitable candidates receive the job orders directly, or they are referred directly to the employer. Most job orders are processed within two business days.
