Official Manitoba Highways Map - for all areas | |
Provincial Highways 75 and 59 lead one hour south to link with the U.S. National Highway System via North Dakota and Minnesota, providing access to a transportation corridor centred on US Interstate highways I-29 and I-35, which connects Canada to a central North American market of 100 million people. Goods can be shipped by truck from Canada to Mexico and all points between.
Highway 75 is twinned to the U.S. border, and Highway 59 is twinned through Ile des Chenes.
Major border crossings to the U.S. are open 24 hours per day, and an automated border crossing at Emerson, Manitoba, enables standard wait times of 10 minutes or less.
Border compliance information is available through the Canada Border Services Agency at www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca
80% of Manitoba's merchandise trade with U.S. is shipped by truck.
Approximately 400,000 commercial trucks cross the MB - U.S. border each year

Over 400,000 trucks crossed the border through Emerson in 2008.
54% increase in commercial releases between 2002/2003 and 2007/2008
