Career Focus

Career Focus is designed to provide support to high school and post-secondary teachers who help students access career-related work experience. Instructors identify employers able to provide employment experiences that are related to the career plans of students. Employers receive a wage incentive and may be eligible for training allowances to help create new, career-related jobs for students.

Manitoba Labour Board

Haven't been paid by your employer or have another issue at work? The Manitoba Labour Board deals with issues in regards to The Labour Relations Act, The Pay Equity Act, The Workplace Safety and Health Act, The Essential Services Act, The Public Schools Act, The Elections Act and The Victims' Rights Act.


Manitoba Youth Job Centres

Manitoba Youth Job Centres register students and youth for regular summer or casual employment. Staff provide information on employment and conduct job search and job readiness workshops for groups and individuals. The program employs over 40 post-secondary students each summer to staff community based centres throughout Manitoba.

Part-Time STEP

An extension of STEP Services that provides part-time employment with provincial government departments and related organizations during the school year.


STEP Services

STEP Services is the provincial government's central employment referral program for high school and post-secondary students seeking work in government departments, special operating agencies and Crown corporations. STEP Services provides students with full and part-time jobs, career-related work experience and promotes careers in Manitoba's civil service.


Student Employment with Manitoba Hydro

Manitoba Hydro offers positions during the summer and throughout the year. In particular, recent grads in commerce, engineer-in-training and information technology can gain varied work experience on six to12-month assignments.

Student Jobs International Inc

Student Jobs International is a job board and employment agency for students in Canada. To find summer jobs, student jobs, internships and entry level jobs, students can sign up for free and apply online.

Workplace Safety and Health

The Division emphasizes a preventive focus to eliminate workplace and public hazards through education, training, working with employers and employees, and inspections and investigations.
