Manitoba Youth Town Hall Meeting with Ministers

The annual Manitoba Youth Town Hall Meeting with Ministers will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Conference Centre, 1808 Wellington Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Participants included high schools students from across the Province.  Students participated in discussions with various Cabinet Ministers about a wide range of issues important to Manitoba youth. Students also had the opportunity to interact with members of the MB4Youth Advisory Council who assisted in the facilitation of the event.

The Manitoba Youth Town Hall Meetings with Ministers were initiated in response to feedback from the "Premier’s Youth Round Table" at Rural Forum 2000. At the Round Table, Manitoba youth indicated they would like an opportunity to speak directly with provincial leaders. Since 2001, several Manitoba Youth Town Hall Meetings with Ministers have been held in Brandon, Thompson, and Winnipeg.

The Town Hall provides youth with the opportunity to brainstorm issues and concerns and identify potential solutions. Youth are given the opportunity to share these concerns and potential solutions with various provincial Cabinet Ministers. After each Town Hall, a final report is prepared and posted below.
