Your
School and Program
A student must be enrolled for a period of study at a post-secondary
school, which has been designated for Manitoba Student Aid purposes
(i.e. it must be an eligible school). The program of studies must:
- be full-time
- be at a post-secondary level
- be at least 12 weeks long (within a time frame of 15 weeks)
- lead to a degree, diploma or certificate

Designation
Process
Designation is the process through which
schools and their programs are deemed
eligible for government student financial
assistance programs. Schools and their
programs must be designated (approved)
by Manitoba Student Aid before students
can receive student financial assistance.
To determine if your school and program
have already been approved, see the sections
"School Search" and "Program
Search" below. For more information
about the designation process, see Designating
Schools for Financial Assistance.
For more information about the designation
policy, please contact the designation
office of Manitoba Student Aid at 945-8507
or 945-7486.

Using the School and Program Search feature
below, you will be able to determine if
your school has been approved for Manitoba
Student Aid purposes.
If you are unable to find your school
on the list, this may mean that the school
you wish to attend has not yet been reviewed
for designation as an eligible school.
You must then submit a paper application,
along with a recent school calendar or
catalogue (or the direct link
to the school's website), to
Manitoba Student Aid to initiate the designation
process. Also include an e-mail
address to the registrar of the school
when completing your application.
If the school you plan to attend is ineligible
for assistance from Manitoba Student Aid,
you will need to check with your school
or other agencies for funding for your
studies.

If your school has already been approved
for Manitoba Student Aid purposes, you
can use the same search feature below
to determine if your program has also
been approved. Once you have selected
your school, a program listing will be
displayed.
If the name of the program is not
on the list, this may mean the program
you wish to attend has not yet been reviewed
for approval as an eligible program for
Manitoba Student Aid purposes. You
must then submit a paper application
to Manitoba Student Aid to initiate this
process.
Please note that if your program is listed as approved, but you want to take an "e-learning" version of it, the "e-learning" version must be reviewed and approved separately. If it has been reviewed, the "e-learning" version will appear on the list. If it does not appear on the list, you must submit a paper application to Manitoba Student Aid to initiate this process.
If your program is listed as an ineligible
program, you will need to check with your
school or other agencies for funding your
studies.
If the program is approved as a "part-time"
program it will be listed as such and
you cannot apply via the Internet. You
will need to contact your school or Manitoba
Student Aid for an application for part-time
studies.
