Break a World Record!
Dean Koshelanyk, president of Tyndall Park Community Centre is inviting Manitobans to don their skates and break the world record for the “longest human skating chain”. To set a record, skaters must hold hands in a chain and skate for a minimum of three minutes. The event is scheduled for 1:30 pm at The Forks. Registration is free.

Manitoba Metis Federation Celebrates Louis Riel Day
The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) invites everyone to join them for a free celebration at the St. Boniface Museum. The festivity begins with an opening ceremony at 9:15 a.m., hosted by Ray St. Germain. Enjoy a traditional Metis lunch and entertainment. Entertainment throughout the day includes:
- The Guady Boys
- dancer Tony Lindo
- Winnipeg Metis Infinity Square Dancer and Half Pints
- Norman Fleury, who will tell legendary tales in the traditional Michif language
A special announcement and presentation regarding Louis Riel's life will also be made.

Walk in the Footsteps of Louis Riel! Take a guided 3-5 kilometre walking tour through historic St. Boniface, Louis Riel’s birthplace and also home to his final resting place. The tour includes a seven-minute Theatre in the Cemetery performance and a visit to the St. Boniface Museum. The walk is free, but registration is required. The tour begins at 10 a.m. at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain (Franco Manitoban Cultural Centre) at 340 Provencher Boulevard.
